I would like to investigate this problem further. Where are application log files are located? Thanks!
Do you have any open Adium windows when this happens? Lion can request inactive programs to close if there is demand for memory or CPU, but it shouldn't do it to a program with any open windows. There are other factors involved in the decision as well, but I don't know the full details.

I had an older version of Adium which didn't work when I upgraded to Lion so I updated Adium... and now my buddy list is all screwed up. I had various groups and contacts merged and all that which have unmerged/merged with the wrong people/moved groups and when I try to change anything, it crashes Adium. I uninstalled and reinstalled Adium, same problem, then tried with 1.4.3b and still have the same problem. Any ideas?

Addendum: I don't have any plugins or anything like that.

I am getting MSN Error: Friendly name changes too rapidly after the upgrade. I have researched this and none of the suggested fixes have worked. I finally did a full uninstall and wiped the plist out and everything else. Still get the error. I never got this error until I upgraded to Lion.

My 1.4.3b1 neither works with Skype nor with GTalk.

A "telnet talk.google.com 5222" on the command line works fine though.

Update 2011-08-01:
There wasn't a real technical problem with Adium and GTalk at all.
I solved my personal and local configuration problem.
I am sorry for the confusion, that I caused.

I'm also experiencing Adium crashing in Lion. Like vzaliva it seems to work for a few days then silently dies. The only way I've overcome it is to reboot. However, the weirdness isn't limited to Adium for me. While I can access the Internet via browsers, Mail.app stops retrieving/sending mail and the App Store never "populates" apps - just the circle of death (not the beach ball).

I got everything to work off the batt....Or at least i thought i did, but then i started noticing some people who normally respond to my messages were unresponsive, and when i sent them messages using other clients they replied quickly and confirmed that they had NOT RECEIVED any messages. This is not always the case, there are times i'm able to carry out normal conversations without any problems, however other times the conversations just ends because they are no longer receiving my responses.

As far as I can tell I can see all their responses fine.

One more thing...Strange but the first 2 letters of my chat messages seem to save on to FLYCUT's clipboard (clipboard manager) when i don't run Adium Flycut works just fine storing multiple cut/copied items, however once Adium is running the items get pushed out because it stores my chat messages (just the first 2 letters)
