Installing Adium to shared folder

Post by CrankyToday »

I'm running Adium on a Mac using the Snow Leopard operating system. I have set up multiple users on the Mac -- one for my business and one for my personal stuff. In most cases, I want the applications running for each user to be distinct. However, for Adium I want both users to have the same IM accounts, contacts, etc. To me this suggests that the various application support files should be located in
home > library > application support
rather than in
home > users > (username) > library > application support

However, I can't figure out how to move the existing Adium or install a new one so that the files go into the common library? Is there a way to do this? Is there a better way to accomplish my goal? Thanks.

I guess you could do a symlink. I assume that would work.

Thanks for the idea, David. I had tried that; it didn't work :(
