Adium suddenly using tiny URLs in tweets without warning

As of 08/12/2011, Adium is suddenly showing shortened t.co URLs in tweets when those are
absolutely not the way the tweets were written — in fact, Adium is replacing one shortened URL with another.
Anyone have any idea how I can fix this?

Twitter now shortens all URLs over 19 characters long with t.co. No way around it.

But not on their own pages? Apparently not.

There's additional metadata provided in the tweets which resolves the t.co to the final destination for display purposes. Adium does not parse this metadata for display. The Twitter website, and some clients, do.
