can't launch on my macbook pro

strange thing happened ... i used to use adium all the time for a year, but as of about a month ago, it doesn't want to launch. i tried uninstall/reinstall with the new version, but same problem. i try to open it, and the little black bird keeps his eyes closed and nothing happens. i am running OSX. can someone shed some light? i miss using adium!

So, does it launch or does it not launch? First you say it doesn't, and then you say it does but that it just doesnt log on.

Adium only runs on OS X.

. can someone shed some light? i miss using adium!

Are your account(s) still listed in Preferences --> Accounts? And if yes, what happens when you go to the FIle menu and select Connect all accounts? Also, what protocols are you usually using?

I reckon maximus means his account(s) doesn't/don't connect.

maximus, which service(s) have you set up in Adium?

sorry if i am using incorrect terminology. what happens is i click on the adium icon to start up the program. when the program starts up, the bird icon opens his eyes. on my mac, the bird constantly has his eyes closed with a spinning icon next to it, presumably bc the computer is "thinking". i do have lil snitch running, but i have it set to allow any and all connections for adium.

i have aol, yahoo, msn, google and facebook added as accounts. used to have no issues at all, but first the fb stopped connecting, and now the whole program doesnt want to open up at all.

What happens if you go to the File menu, and select Connect all accounts?

well, as chance would have it, my adium now works fine. i did nothing differently. anyway, thank you all for your input and responses!
