adium 1.4.3 [says up to date]
scsa.msg.yahoo.com port 5050
any of those changed.
try to connect and says error invalid data.

I take it from the lack of replies that no one else is having his problem.
on top of which I downloaded yahoo messenger and and I am unable to log with the app. incorrect credentials is says.
however, with those same credentials I am able to log into my email account.
something is up and I guess it is not adium.
