I can not figure it out, but for some reason, a buddy of mine does not pop the event bezel. As a workaround, I picked a special alert sound for him when he signs on, but just now, it did not trigger.

The only thing odd about this user is I have him listed in 2 IM accounts, but I have others set that way as well, and I have not noticed this issue with them.

Where are my buddy list items stored so I can maybe delete and try again? If I remove a user, then add them back in, I see any custom alerts I set and such are "remembered", how do you truly nuke a user and then add them back in?

There's a file for each contact in the folder:
~/Library/Application Support/Adium 2.0/Default User/ByObject

perhaps delete the appropriate file and start over. Weird problem, haven't seen the behavior locally...

I found that last night, and deleted it. The user has a custom audio event for when they log on, no bezel or audio even happens. I deleted the file, restarted adium, added the user back in, and the custom audio event was still attached.

It also did not help any at all. This user is added to two of my IM accounts, could that have something to do with it.

There is something very strange going on here, Adium .77

I created an AIM account as a test case for this, so I logged on as testuser to aim in ichat, I messaged my usual Adium IM screen name and the message popped up, I then added that user to my "buddies" group.

I signed off of ichat with testuser, and the normal sign off sound I am used to hearing was heard, yay.

Now, I signed back on in ichat and the normal Adium sound that tells me someone has signed on was heard as well, yay.

Next, since I have two AIM accounts in adium, one is private and one is more public, so in this case, I wanted testuser to be seen by both, so I control click on testuser and get info. In the "Accounts" tab of the Info area, I see "(Not Listed)" on my public account and "buddies" on my private account. I then toggle the group to allow this testuser to be listed in both.

And here is where it gets really odd. it only happens sometimes, but toggling one group will auto-toggle the other, as if they need to both be in the same group. This is ok, as in my case I either want them in seperate ones, or in both of the same. However, now, the testuser is in both my Adium screen name accounts, in the same group.

Signing on and off of ichat, and I get no aduio alerts, no bezels, nothing. So it has something to do with more than one account, and a user being on more than one.
