Removing Facebook contacts from list permanently?

I don't want to see all the online Facebook contacts on Adium. I just want to see a few. So I remove them individually, but when I restart Adium, they're back. Is there a way to remove them permanently?

Facebook does not allow for clients such as Adium to manage the Facebook contact list.

I'm not asking Adium to manage the G+ or FB contact list. I'm asking Adium to manage its own contact list.
So the list doesn't get automagically updated anymore whenever i add a Twitter, FB or G+ contact. Who cares? Just make a Sync Contacts with Platform button/menu which syncs Adium with FB/Twitter/G+.
I don't have too many contacts. Let's say 100 on FB, 200 on Twitter and 100 on G+. Do you think 400 social media contacts in your contact list is manageable?
Twitter has the option to not show the contacts in your contact list. Make the same option for G+ and FB.
