It's so annoying... in combination with virtual desktops it's so bad, a window opens "somewhere" on the bottom of everything on "some" desktop (I know it's the current desktop but I have 10 desktops full of stuff and constantly switch between...)

I'd just like the window to open when clicking the dock icon or something...

Sorry if the feature is in there somewhere and I just haven't found it...

It's not there, no worries. But you can set the window to not appear while you're in the background if it bothers you (In the advanced pane under messages).
