How do you leave a group chat?

How do you leave an AOL group chat in Adium? If I close the window, it just opens again when someone sends a new message to the group. And the group stays in my friends iist, even after I quit and re-launch Adium.

I have this same issue. And the group sits forever in the contact list. If you delete the group, it also deletes all the contacts for that room! This started for the newest version of AIM. People using it cannot join a room initiated in Adium.

Hey guys,

I realize the last reply is almost 2 years old, but I have been hindered by this issue for a few months and finally a light went off. To leave the group chat and have it be reflected indefinitely on Adium, download AIM (Aol Instant Messenger) and leave the group chat from there. Restart Adium and the group chat should be gone - for good!
