In 0.77 I had it set than when a contact sends me a "first message", I got the name and the text in a solid block in the middle of the screen that popped over other windows (browser) and if i clicked on it it would bring me to the message window.

How can I turn this on in 0.8????

The bezel notifications in .7x have been replaced with Growl in .8. Adium should ask you to install it first launch, if not http://www.growl.info There's a bunch of different options including one very much like the bezel from .7x.

yeah i installed it but even after i add the notifications in events, nothing happens

dbomb: Adium only prompts to install Growl once you have it actually wanting to display a Growl notification; the default event set intentionally doesn't to avoid confusing people. The Visual Notifications built-in event set does use Growl though

ok got it working -- 2 questions:

1 .With "bezels," when i click on the notification, it doesnt bring me to the message window... can it do this?

2. I would like to only have notification on the FIRST message (that is, i dont have a message window/tab open with that contact before the message is sent) -- i see only options for background and foreground message... is first message possible?

click on bezels? this is so much more confusin than .77

okay you click message received(initial), then the + in the bottom left, pick from the drop down menu display a growl notification(check off sticky if you want it to stay there untill you click on it, leaving it unchecked makes the notification fade out in about 3 seconds)

that sould get you going(repeat those steps for any other thing you want a growl notification for)

Is there any way to get it so when i click on the notification, it brings me to the message window?

if you dont use stickies they sould become clickable(if you click a sticky it just gets rid of it)

ahh they are __not__clickable no matter what i do.... have you got them to be clickable?

Also, is there any way to flash the contact name in the contact list to "unviewed content"? I have it set under status but it is not doing it and i dont see anything about it under events?

ok so bubbles is clickable but i cant move to the middle of the screen?

Also -- Even though I have the option checked under contact list appearance--events and advanced--contact list, i can't get it to flash buddy names with unviewed content?
