In the image above, the top icon is Adium in the finder and the bottom one is Adium in the dock.

It would appear that the changes Apple made to the PNG loader in Tiger are doing something weird with the image's gamma. All the bundled dock icons look a bit strage.

Is anyone else seeing this?

There was a beta thread about this... Summary was, Tiger's doing some weird colour-correction thing over which Adium has no apparent control.

Graphics gurus are welcome to see if the .png files can maybe be modified to fix it... we're not doing anything exciting in Tiger that should be acting differently as far as I know.

I'm going to throw a random guess out there and blame embedded color profiles. Hate those things

When I get a chance I'll mess with it and see if I can figure a way to detox Adiumy.

With a quick open and re-save without color profiles in Photoshop, Adiumy is now back to himself in Tiger.

I opened a Trac ticket that contains a link to the zip file of fixed dock icons.

I'm not entirely sure if saving without colour profiles is the best way to get accurate colour. In my experience, saving with the Apple RGB profile is usually best. There was another thread on this where this was true.

Of course, I don't know a whole lot about profiles.

I don't know a whole lot either... all I know is that Adiumy looks normal now.
