Seperating each message?

In previous version of Adium (.77) there was an "Advanced" option that allowed me to separate multiple consecutive messages.
To be more precise, unchecking
Preferences: Advanced: Messages: Display Options: Combine consecutive messages
forced Adium to display these as a new message. I really miss that feature. Has it been renamed? Is it a .plist hack? Or something Adium will no longer support at all?

This is floating around in several posts right now...
The short answer is that this feature is now message view dependant so that message views are more standardized. In other words, some message views don't look right with consecutive messages separated, so it is now up to message view authors to make variants to implement this feature.

Hmm... well, sorry for not searching
I guess I will have to dick around with this message view till I figure out how to do it then.
Thanks
edit: Actually, does anybody know how this can be done?

I'm a message style noob...

Try a search, i think that somebody pointed to the plist that you need to edit, but I don't remember which post now...Do a search like - message plist consecutive - that should pop something up.

I can save you the trouble, I think. Work on a copy of the style.
Control-click, "Show package contents". Find the style's Info.plist inside "Contents" and open it in your favourite text editor. Add the following amongst the other keys:
Code: Select all
<key>DisableCombineConsecutive</key>
<true />
Save & install as usual.
