how to get rid of grey font border - contact list?

Post by shorty116 »

i'm new to adium and it's great, it looks so good on my desktop. only thing that annoys me is that there is a grey border around the font in contact list. it sorta expands the font. i can't get rid of this, nor change the colour. could anybody help me out on this one?

Go to the adiumXtras page... Certain contact lists don't use a border. Bubbles for instance.... Actually I don't think you even have to go to the xtra's page. just go to preferences -> Appearance -> List Layout... and switch it to borderless window, or bubbles or whatever you want...

Yea, my list is doing this as well. Looks like someone shaded underneath the names with a pencil.

Is there any way to disable this? I didn't see an option to do so within the customization menu.

Let me add some pics to show what I mean...

Here's my options panel with my work contact list up. You can see the opacity set low and the shadows under the text.

Here's the same list with the opacity set high. The shadows are gone.

I know in .79, you could have the opacity set to 5% and have no shadows. Any contact list I use, be it 3rd party or default, seems to add the shadows as the opacity goes down. Is there a way to get rid of this?

Thanks again and sorry for posting twice in a row,

I have this same problem. I can't find anywhere to turn off text shadows, aside from the group names.

100% opacity:

I guess it's back to 0.62 for me!

Go to: Preferences -> Advanced -> contact list

In there, there is a checkbox to turn off window shadow

Great, that worked! I didn't see that one because the shading was on the text, not the window. Thanks.
