Is Adium Still Supported?
Is Adium Still Supported?
Is Adium still even being supported? MSN is broken, Yahoo hasn't worked for months, and when was the last time we had any sort of a real update? If the project is dead, it would be good to know. Sure, Adium treats its Mac customers (seeing as their its only customers) leagues better than Trillian does, but a dead program is a dead program.

Re: Is Adium Still Supported?
Adium is an open source application, so the activity of the project depends entirely on people working in their free time. Recently there hasn't been any major activity, but so far the project is not deemed dead by any means. This also means that someone may suddenly get a spike of energy and do a lot of work on the project.
1.5 was released quite a long time ago, but 1.6 is also shaping up to be a major release, but no ETA so far. You can pick up an alpha release if you feel like riding rough though.
And just for the record, MSN in Adium is working fine for me.

Re: Is Adium Still Supported?
How? Neither MSN nor Yahoo function for me AT ALL. How did you manage to keep them to work?
Re: Is Adium Still Supported?
Yahoo -- and maybe MSN -- works just fine with a nightly Adium 1.5.11 or nightly 1.6

1.6 : http://nightly.adium.im/adium-adium-1.6 ... gr5896.dmg

MSN still reports as "connection refused".

Unfortunately my memory served me wrong - MSN is not working for me either. I was sure I had recently used it, but alas no.JustinG87 wrote:How? Neither MSN nor Yahoo function for me AT ALL. How did you manage to keep them to work?

Yes, the patch to fix Yahoo was applied to source: https://hg.adium.im/adium/rev/60d7d05396d7tungchao wrote:Yahoo -- and maybe MSN -- works just fine with a nightly Adium 1.5.11 or nightly 1.6

1.6 : http://nightly.adium.im/adium-adium-1.6 ... gr5896.dmg
Source hasn’t been updated to use Libpurple 2.10.10 – which includes fixes to MSN – yet.

Hi, is there any update on this issue? MSN has been broken for months and there are no nightly builds or anything.Robby wrote:Source hasn’t been updated to use Libpurple 2.10.10 – which includes fixes to MSN – yet.
Re: Is Adium Still Supported?
MSN has been abandoned by Microsoft in favor for Skype. I'm surprised people can still connect to it with any IM client. I wouldn't personally bet on being able to do that for too much longer.
Also unfortunately many of the IM services Adium supports are losing popularity, and many of the ones Adium doesn't or is losing support for are seeing more popularity.
