My favorite thing about Adium is that I could make it so small and unobtrusive. Especially when working on my 12" iBook, screen real estate is important. I loved the clean lines of the Simple Message Style, but that appears to have been removed. If I'm missing something, let me know, but I downgraded to 0.77 because this feature is incredibly important to me.

not sure what you mean by simple message style...? but i bet you you could switch to it in adium .80... adium .80 actually has most of the features that are in 0.77... they are just a little more difficult to find...

batkinz: "Simple" was one of the included Webkit Message View Styles with Adium 0.77. I believe the current plan is to update it to 0.80 and post it on adiumxtras.com.

does anyone know if it's possible to also not join consecutive messages with 0.8 as well?

i liked the way i had it before, with the screen name on the left, and message on the right of EVERY message sent. old school, but the easiest for me to work with.

I really love the Simplicity theme from v0.77 but the new 0.80 version is missing something that I liked, indenting the secondary messages that are grouped together. Could you bring back the indents? It makes it a lot easier to see the differing groups. Thanks!

I just posted a comment on the Xtras site but also wanted to mention here -- THIS is what I was looking for, and thank you for posting it! It was also my favorite theme.

I agree on the indents, and would also like the option of putting the timestamp all the way to the right of each message, instead of directly in front of or after the user name. My memory is that the previous theme allowed you to select this, but if I'm wrong, I apologize...and I still request this feature, if possible!

Indents?

Never used the style, I don't know how it used to look. I don't believe I've changed anything about the style that would alter indents... Would you post a screenshot of how it used to look?

I don't have Adium .77 on anymore, and I'm slow about screenshots anyway, but if you look at the example screenshot for the message style SimpleSeparateLines here http://www.adiumxtras.com/images/pictur ... g_1859.gif
then you will see that the indent with Evan right under the message from Jeff. The way that the original Simple indents were was that the messages were grouped together, but each one after the inital message was intented to that distance. Pretty much a hanging indent for all grouped messages.

I'll be more than happy to textually explain anything else that I can't technologically represent.
