Yahoo not showing authorization messages

I've been using Adium with ICQ & MSN for a while. I recently got a Yahoo account too, and noticed that it doesn't show authorization messages. So I have no idea of somebody adding me to their contact list, until they send me a message. Is this feature coming?

Authorasiation messages in what sense? As in when someone adds you to your contact list? I'm sure .8 still does this (it did throughout the beats no-way they'd take it out now), if you just got an account are you sure it's just because noone has added you yet, forgive me if I've misunderstood your post. Perhaps also you mean that they are not added to your contact list when they add you, a known issue, search for other threads about this.

You understood right. I gave my Yahoo account to a couple of people, expecting them to add me to their list. Nothing happened so I started wondering if Adium doesn't show these messages. Then I did tried it by adding me to my girlfriend's list. I got no message on that. And I know I did it right, because she can see that I'm online.

ooh that's a bit weird then. Are you sure that Yahoo sends authorization messages?, even if MSN and ICQ do doesn't mean it does necessarily. Sounds like a bug but you could check it is even supposed to send messages by creating a dummy yahoo account and using the official client to check.

It does. I tried the official client first, before adding that account to Adium.

Edit: Now I also tried connecting my .mac account (which I never use) with iChat, and added my ICQ/AIM on that. Again, I can see from iChat that I'm online (with Adium), but I received no message on being added. I wonder if there is something wrong with my Adium.

yes, yahoo does send a confirmation message asking if you want the user to see you or not blah blah blah.

but adium, i'm not sure if it has these. i haven't had any new people add me to their yahoo, since i got adium, which was several versions ago.
