Width of tabs in conversation window are uneven aligned

The width of the tabs in the conversation window seems to be automatically scaled depending on how many chats that are open.
However, when there are many chats, some of the tabs gets squeezed way to much, so the label is no longer visible. Other tabs keep quite wide and I cannot see the logic in the behavior, so I think it might be a bug?

See the attached image as an example of how the tabs are aligned and spanned.

Is this a normal behavior or only in my client? If normal behavior, is there perhaps a setting that will change the way it sets the width of the tabs? An even width would be fine, even if some labels are longer than others.
