Windows flashing when sending messaged

After updating to Mac OS High sierra when i send a message the message window animation will be choppy and flash between all white and the customer back ground, My business associate and i are having the same issue, We have different custom backgrounds and different fonts, The result is the same.

Issue also continues with default background

Both computers Mac OS 10.13
Adium Version 1.5.10.4
