Copy or Sync Adium preferences between two macs?

Hello.
I run Adium on both my macs. Is there a way to copy the preferences from one machine top the other so that they look and behave the same way?
I had them both very similar (done manually) and once I fired up the new 0.8 I lost these settings! I just want to copy the existing prefs to the new version.
I've tried moving these things across to no avail:
- ~/library/preferences/com.adiumX.adiumX.plist
- ~/library/Application Support/Adium 2.0 (folder)
- ~/library/Adium 2.0 (folder)
Once I find out how this is done, I can (hopefully) sync them.
_thanks in advance

Warning: If you are upgrading from .77, some prefs will not carry over to .8.

yeah... I've found that already.
What I want is to be able to find and move the prefs for .77 over to the .8 version, cos they look VERY different now, and I can't find all the same settings in .8 as I had in .77.
Does anyone know if I CAN even do this? I assume Iuld bea ble to, just gotta find the files buried somewhere in my HD..

I think that was part of jstamos's point - not all of the 0.77 preference files will be directly compatible with 0.8. You can try mixing-and-matching files between the two if you like (I haven't tried it myself), but I'd be prepared for some unexpected crashes.
Your safest bet (but not necessarily the quickest) would be to reset the preferences in 0.8 to your liking from within the 0.8 preferences dialog. What in particular are you unable to find in 0.8? Perhaps we can point you in the right direction.

For your original question, if you have a network, you could use the technique described
here to point both copies of Adium to the same prefs. Some weird stuff could happen if you run (or quit) both copies at the same time, but if that's not an issue it might work. Good luck!

and all of your preferences *are* in the ~/Library/Application Support/Adium 2.0 folder, you need not look anywhere else...

I've always thought that too. But there is a ~/Library/Preferences/com.adiumX.adiumX.plist which contains preference-like info. Anybody know what's up with that?

Hi Thanks for all your input.
I understand (now) that .77 prefs differ quite a bit from .80 prefs. The final solution was to recreate my prefs using .80, then copy this folder across to the other machine:
~/library/Application Support/Adium 2.0 (folder)*
*Note - this folder contains the Adium LOGS, so if you copy it across to another machine, all the LOGS on that machine will be overwritten.
Everything worked out well! Copying prefs between machines with the same version of Adium works a treat.
I am curious, however, as to why there are (what seem to be) two identical folders in different places on the HD:
- ~/library/Application Support/Adium 2.0 (folder)
- ~/library/Adium 2.0 (folder)
