File Transfer Causes Crashes

Alright, so I've been looking forward to Adium .8 for a long time because of the file transfers, because that's a big part of my use for an IM client. I was overly excited to hear of its release, but after downloading it and testing the file transfer, I learned that not only did it not work, both sending and recieving wise, but a file transfer causes an unexpected crash for the app. And this hasn't only happened once- I tried with another Adium user, an iChat user, an AIM user, an MSN user, a Fire user, a Trillian user, etc. None of them work. Any suggestions?
