Thanks to the deaths of Facebook chat, MSN chat and so on, Adium has really suffered from an A grade must have app to a silent one horse town - or so it would seem. Is there any chance of it being salvaged as a solely Jabber based client? Is there a codebase that would allow us to tap into the Telegram network? Is there even any point?
If this happens, cool! If not, thanks for the ride guys, it's been one helluva experience!

Revitalisation
Re: Revitalisation
There is a plugin for Telegram: https://adium.im/help/pgs/Accounts-ListOfServices.html It's been a while since I last tried it so I don't know whether it still works.
Re: Revitalisation
I was using Adium, at this point, only for Google Chat. However, I noticed that ever since my daughter started chatting directly from Google Chat on Safari on her computer, I can no longer see via Adium that she's online. I still receive messages from her via Adium, and she can see that I'm online, but when I'm chatting with her, it looks as though she's signed out. I thought she was signed out for days, and when I asked her about it, she thought is was because she was not using Adium anymore for chatting.
As a result, I downloaded the Google Chat app to my computer in order to be able to tell if she's available. And the Google Chat app is a nuisance to use, as you have to launch Chrome and keep it running in order to use the app, even though it's a separate app on my dock. And the list of contacts is very wide, which is a minor annoyance. I've been using various iterations of the Google Chat app on my iPhone for years, and it doesn't have those complications.
I don't know if you're going to continue to work on Adium or if it's no longer worth your time and effort. If you're not, I'll sadly uninstall it. It's been a great app and I've enjoyed using it all these years.

My talents lie beyond that plugin. Now, if it could be pre-installed, I would use Adium like ALL THE TIME!Robby wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 2:16 am There is a plugin for Telegram: https://adium.im/help/pgs/Accounts-ListOfServices.html It's been a while since I last tried it so I don't know whether it still works.
