Ever since the .8 upgrade, my MSN contacts in the contact list are listed by their msn email address, rather than their contact name. I've tried changing the display settings to show the alias instead, but this shows the same thing unless I manually specify an alias for each person in my list (on their getinfo page).
I just want it to show their MSN user names like it used to, so that when they change their name I can actually see it, instead of it being either a static name, or a thoroughly useless email address.
Any ideas how to rectify this?
Contact List Shows MSN Emails instead of usernames
1) Adium > Preferences > Advanced
2) Choose the MSN item in the column on the left of the preferences window.
3) Under the heading, "Display names (friendly names)", swtich off (or uncheck) the check box that's titled "Show display names as status messages".
Note that this requires you to restart Adium to take effect.
