I don't really care if someone is trying to make a point or not. Too many people don't understand how to use it properly and would rather turn it on all the time.jstamos wrote:The bold thing was removed because when someone wants to emphasize a point they should be allowed to. Stripping this formatting actually changes the meaning of the IM, and that should not be allowed. I'm not sure if it would be possible to detect a whole string using bold, and disable formatting only for constant message formatting.
And yet all anybody has to do is open a plist file and add a key? Perhaps the message style selection screen should allow you to choose this per style and allow the dev to select a default.Combine consecutive IMs was a very hard thing to implement from a message view standpoint. Its hard to design a message view that looked good with the same CSS in both consecutive and non-consecutive messages.
Then tell me why mine moves like I was creating a new window every time. My guess? You're using an Adium .77 plist. My message window remembers its position perfectly.
I'm very sorry that these are my problems with Adium. I don't care if the suggestion has been made once or a million times. I'm here to get my point across. The status window is not finished. Please note that every single one of your requests have been made multiple times, and it would do you go to search for your topics before you make a post![]()
The sheer fact that they frown upon the statement is disappointing. And the fact that they filter the word Proteus is rather ignorant too. Also, the Adium team frowns down on comments like "this has made me revert to a previous version" or "guess I'll try Pr*teus" or other threat-like sentences.
You haven't really told me anything, though. Spite or not, there was clearly a loss of thought when these features were even removed.Above all else, I wanted to tell you why these changes were made, because there is a high amount of reason and logic behind it. No one took away your features just to spite you
