I have just started using adium, and I have noticed that not everybody's display picture shows up in msn.

First time I installed it, only 6 people in my 80 person contact list showed up with pictures when they were online. Then I deleted the plist file and restarted the program and about 12 people then came up wiht photos.

Also the pics do not update unless I delete the plist file. Is there any way to fix this?

and there are a few other posts like this one with the same problem but non of them have been answered.

at least one of my contacts always appears to have someone else's display picture until i open a chat with him, i think it happens with others too, but they don't seem to reproduce, just this one does without fail, and always with the same wrong picture

ie contact1 should have picture1, but always without fail has picture2 (which belongs to contact2) until a chat is opened.

both contacts are on msn, contact1 is a meta contact, contact2 is not. i have Consolidate contacts listed in the card ticked, and also i have Overwirte Address Book images with contacts' icons ticked, but not Use Address Book images as contact icons.

i read somewhere to try deleting ~library/application support/adium 2.0/users/default/libgaim (i think i possibly found this in the beta forum, as i can't find it anymore), but my users/default contains only accounts, so i tried users/new user/libgaim but that didn't have any affect.

this has been happening since i first started using the 0.8 betas at about b8, i thought i might fix itself for the final release, but it hasn't.

Any thoughts?

Hey, my problem has been fixed now.

What i did, was I first deleted all the files in libgaim/icons

Then, I started up ADIUM and went to preferences/advanced/addressbook and I checked all the boxes under the 'images' title. I no longer have the problem at all.

I've just done that too and it worked, don't understand why.. but it works lol
