Adium ICQ File Transfer

Post by AcidReign »

Hey there,

I know this issue was around here some time but I didn't find any solution with searching the forum.

I can't send files from ICQ account to ICQ contact... the option is just greyed out.

From MSN to MSN is no Problem.

So I thought, that maybe Adium doesn't have the feature of sending files with an ICQ account. But I read in another forum that other guys don't have any problem with sending Files from ICQ to ICQ.

So where is my mistake? I tried changing the Port of ICQ to 5050 and I tried changing the standard server to login.icq.com - no change. The File Transfer Option is greyed out for ICQ Contacts.

I would be greatfull for any hint on what to do.

wait im confused here, if gaim supports aim file transfers but not icq, but aim and icq have merged. so what happens when you try an aim to icq transfer?

THAT was a great Idea.. just additionally connected with an AIM-Account and now File-Transfer is not greyed out anymore.. now I just have to wait for a friend to be there to test it

Eh… we had the same post a while back… I forgot where.

And I thought ICQ didn't have FT; guess I was right.

ICQ is just AIM - all the extra features which aren't really needed.

As far as i know ICQ does support file transfers. Using the original client i did FT many times (sometimes it worked, and sometimes not).
