In Adium version 0.77, if you set it up to notify you of certain events (buddy logging on/off, going idle/returning, etc.) it would pop up a small little square with text such as "John is now online" (or something like that). I read (somewhere in this forum) that you can do this in 0.80/0.81 by enabling "growl" and setting that up. I tried that but I don't like it because in several areas it is a set back from however it was done it version 0.77. In 0.77 when the square popped up, it would be green, red, "off-white", etc. depending on what event had just occured (red for buddy had logged off, green for a buddy had logged on, white was for something like buddy went idle, etc.). I could not figure out how to adjust growl or adium to fix this. Also, in the old version when the box popped up you could drag it to a convenient location and it would continue to pop up there until it was adjusted again by the user. This functionality has seemed to vanish in the new version of adium as there are five fixed positions (the four corners and the center) listed in the growl preference pane. Are there any solutions to these two issuses?
