Hi!
I'm very sorry, if this topic is already somewhere, but I searched the board for hours now and never found any hint that might help me.
Ok, first of all I'm an ICQ User, just recently changed to Mac, and I hate the ICQ version for Mac. I can't see Emoticions, the connection is very unstable etc. That's why I changed to AdiumX now. It's perfect, I even can see ICQ5 Emoticons now, and the messenger itself looks really good. The only thing I'm missing is the possibility to write offline messages like in ICQ. If my friends are offline, I used to write them a short message, and when they are online again, they recieve it and can answer. Is there any such feature in AdiumX? And what happens if my friends write me a message while I'm offline? Will I get it? You know with ICQ we have this little stamp that shows you that your contact has written a message while you were offline.
I'd be very grateful for any help given
uuuuhm, afaik double click the offline contact
send him a message
a window with alot of bla bla bla pops up
press "send anyway"
Voilah!
If you don't see your offline contacts, it's a choice you can make in the view menu! (cmd-shift-H)
the offline messages have to work, they're icq server side!
If you need to know about the offline messaging: tell a friend to send you a specific message when you are offline, go offline, friend sends message, go online see the message!
to send messages to offline users not appearing in your contact list you can also press command-N and start typing your contact's name. the name field will autocomplete. just press return and the message window will appear. then follow twopeak's instructions for sending the message itself.
