i feel like i've seen a topic similar to this around the forums, but my searches were mostly irrelevant.

is it possible to implement a transparency feature for the message window? i'm not too tech savy as far as code goes, so i don't even know if this is allowable in OS X, but i would have some use for such a feature, and there are some nice message styles that would look very cool with a transparent background. if not i'm sure i could just take some drugs and pretend.

Has been mentioned many times, and was, at least before 10.3.9 and 10.4 came out, a limitation of WebKit, which powers both Safari and Adium's message views.

However, now that Dashboard is out, I'm no longer positive to whether or not it supports it, so I won't immediately lock this thread. Anyone?

yeah, it might be possible now, not quite sure, as Wengero said you can set windows to be transparent when the page in blank.
