it happened around adium .8b11...every time i open adium my contact list is viewed by alias, when the prefs specifically say username. i went to view> contact name format, and "username" IS selected...i reselect and all goes back to normal..that is..until i quit and re-open..any suggestions?

also, when i copy text from a message window to send to another buddy, i get a beachball for a few seconds...could it be the messageview im using? (im using the latest candybars)

did you try the things you should try first (see top sticky note at the top of this forum)?

deleting prefs and things like that...

actually..i just had an idea..what if i removed the contact list.plist or the caches folder...i mean, id have to re index my logs (no?) and reset my list prefs, but would that work? im gonna go try (obviously keep a backup)

heh..that seemed to solve it...i moved the contact list.plist into a different folder along with byobject folder, and in the ~/Library/Caches, i moved my usernames folder within the adium cache folder to a different location, and low and behold adium signed on and my contact list was in username mode, not alias! weeeeeeee!

no, stupid me all that did was erase all my aliases. is there any way to go about fixing this without having to redo all my aliases?
