APPLESCRIPT: Any away status work?

Is there any applescript commands that work for away in .8x?

In .7x

set my status message to "Example"

would work even though it wasn't the best way, it now doesn't work!

In .8x

set my status to away

works but if you then go in to adium and set the status to available and then try to set the status to away with the script again adium quits. The script will then not work until you get a script to set the status to available then the script will work.

Is this a bug?
