simple question re: MSN buddy list synchronization issue

Post by jakengracey »

I keep getting a Buddy list sybchronizatoin issue in my MSN account.

I realize that this probably has nothing to do with Adium, but I wasn't sure how to go about resolving it.

I get "smith@web.com on the local list is inside the group "Individuals" but not on the server list. Do you want this blah blah blah"

So I click yes, and everything is fine. but when I quit I have to go through it again. Could someone point me in the write direction please?

thanks in advance.

I know what you mean, it has happend to me before too. What you have to do is organize your groups using MSN MESSENGER and HOTMAIL(if you have it) and then log into Adium. Adium's plists have it organized one way but it is being told from one or two other sources that it should be organized another way.
Let me know if that helps. ;)

Well, I've verified the account (since I'm not using hotmail) so that means I have to download MSN messenger and then organize the buddies list the way i want it in Adium?

Shirley there is a simpler way?

;-)

Does that mean it worked?

Ya, I know it's a pain. I had the same problem with AIM and Y!M at one point too.
