How to "un-meta" a contact?

Post by neilio »

I have a few contacts that I do not want grouped as a meta-contact, but I can't seem to find a way to ungroup or change this preference.

Is this an "all or nothing" proposition?

Get info on a contact, highlight the screen name that you don't want meta-ed in the drawer, and click the minus. They should be separated at that point.

i have a problem where two contacts are inseparable. I follow the above instructions, they stay apart for a short while, then clump back together. Any suggestions?

-- i should add that they have different names, identifiers and are not linked anywhere else but in adium.

If you're using your Address Book, and you have have "Consolidate contacts listed in the card" checked (Prefs -> Advanced -> Address Book), then it'll automatically group them.
