changing fonts etc.

on the newest version of adium, how do you set the font (plus style+color) of sent messages and be able to see the other persons own fonts?

Go into your preferences, click on Messages, and click Set Font... to the right of the "Text Display" area.

i set up the fonts and stuff in the
"text display" area and the font changes in the message box. however, when i am sending messages it recieves as just a default black times new roman font when i wanted a verdana font.

i even tried to do this manually by highlighting the text in the message window and format+show fonts and tried to change it from there, but it just stays as a default font. any suggestions?

Don't let the "Show received message Fonts" checkbox fool you...
To set you're font, go to a message window, command - T. Select a font send something with that font. It should save.
