I'm a newbie with Adium, but no newbie to computers. All I know is that when I open Adium and add my MSN and AIM account, and then connect, no contacts appear in my list (even though I'm connected). Is this normal for Adium? I also noticed that once someone messaged me, it created a group and put that person in the group on my list. Is there a way that I can have them all imported without my buddies messaging me before they are on my list? I appreciate it.

the option to hide offline contacts is probably on.
To change this, connect all accounts, click on the view menu, deselect the option "view offline contacts".
Now you should see all your offline contacts

Adium automaticly downloads your buddies from the server if the service you use allows this. (it does on MSN and AIM)
