gaim error (msn)

i've been connecting fine at work till this morning.
could the firewall have been updated?

i tried the new beta adium but it won't even launch properly.
i've filed a bug report about the gaim error.
can anyone tell me if it is because the firewall at work has been updated, and is blocking adium, that is the source of the problem?
is there any way to beat it?

the fastest way to get help, is to talk to the ppl responsable of the firewall at your work.
Another way is to get another msn client and see if that connects.
if it stopped working with as soon as you got the beta, post under the beta forum. (and use .81 if you really need to chat
)

i was using 8.1, and it worked fine till that morning.
msn messenger is definitely blocked, but a friend directed me to adium. i was so happy that i could connect through the firewall with adium.
then apparently, our server crashed the night before that fateful morning. i guess when it got reset, certain parameters got updated or something?
i tried downloading 8.2 to see if that could work, but after installation, the program wouldn't even launch properly... so i don't know if connecting was gonna be a problem.
what other clients can i use? but i like adium!
