editing buddy lists...

Post by abalgach »

Hey, I am trying to remove the groups i have, and make my buddy list just one big list, I did it quite easily in AOL IM, but the list wont transfer to Adium, it still puts up my old list. I have tried looking in the settings to see where the list is stored, but couldnt figure it out. Is there a way to refresh the list from the AOL server?

Cheers,
Adam.

Why not do it in Adium? It's really easy. CMD+Click all your contacts n drag them to the group.

Unselect "Show Groups" in Adium's View menu? :)

Moving Buddies...

Post by abalgach »

First i have no option that says "show groups" and in adium, when i try and drag a buddy from one group to another it says "Unable to Add...Could not add the buddy <buddyname> for an unknown reason. The most common reason for this is that you have the max number of allowed buddies in your buddy list"

however i have only 65 buddies! clearly not the most, and most of my groups have like 7 or 8 buddies in them. i just want one big group, its such a pain in the neck. anyone know how to do accomplish this. i think the most ideal way is just to wipe out the preferances on the HD and have it reload from the server, but i dunno know how.

cheers,
adam.
