Jabber users avatars

Hi all,

I admin a Mac OS X server and recently got the iChat(Jabber) service going. I am using Adium as a client, most of my Mac clients are using iChat, and my Windows clients are using Exodus.

My question is: Why can't the other clients see my avatar and I can't see theirs. The iChat clients see the Exodus avatars and vicea versa, but Adium can't see theirs and they can't see mine.

Because apple implemented the icons and nobody else follows it yet.

I'm still confused why Exodus works with the icons then.

Gaim implemented support for the new iChat Jabber icons thing, too, but I don't think it got backported to 1.x.... which means, for us: Jabber icon support will happen, but not until Gaim 2.0.0 is out, which may be a while.
