Certain message views have an image saved in the background image area, and I can't figure out how to remove it. I used to be able to "cut" it out, but I can't anymore for some reason.
You should be able to go to Prefs -> Messages, and at the bottom check "Use custom background". Then you can choose a color, and if the image well is full, just click the image and press delete.
