Disabling Personal Buddy Icon

Post by SyzYgY »

I am sorry to be redundant if this issue has been covered before; however, if it has, I cannot find it.

I have searched through the program, help, and the forums, and I can't figure out how to do a seemingly simple thing: disable my own buddy icon. I don't want to have a buddy icon for others to see. As of now, I have not been able to locate a feature that allows this. If someone could point me in the right direction, that would be great.

Thanks.

Currently there is no way to delete your buddy icon once set except by replacing it with a new one.

Replace it with a blank image.

Well, apparently there is a way to delete it...or I found another bug.

I went into the image well last night, hit delete. Nothing happened. Now, almost 24 hours later, instead of the image listed in my buddy list, in the message window I'm getting the generic adiumy. Just checked my preferences, and I no longer have an image in the well.

So, I guess you can delete the buddy icon. Except it's still showing up on my contact list. I'm confused. But what else is knew? :?

No way to just not have a buddy icon, eh? That seems like it would be pretty standard affair as far as chat programs go. Well, I guess that is something for the developers to think about adding. I would highly recommend it.

Thanks everyone.

Then perhaps you should go to http://trac.adiumx.com/wiki/RequestingFeatures and request it like you are supposed to :)
