Minimal Message Style

When I'm using the Minimal message style, I can't send my IMs in the colors I want. I use black background and red font. I have to install 0.77 then upgrade to 0.82. It works for a while then when my buddy's away message pops up, its black background and white font. I can't change it to red. Anyone else having this problem?

I GOT IT!!!! I always accidentally hit the return and this resets the color to black or whatever the default is. If i don't do this, i'm good. I wonder why this happens?

It’s a “feature” that most dislike.

Nope, hopefully (IMO) it'll be removed sometime though...who wants to mimic iChat anyway?

Yeah, it was a poorly conceived hidden feature... I don't think I've heard but one or two positive comments about it.

Well, when I first heard about the feature, I was excited, because I thought that my "default" font (the one I always use) could be Comic Sans 12 blue, and if I pasted in some formatted text or my font otherwise got messed up, I could just hit enter to get it back to my usual font. Instead, it goes back to Helvetica black or whatever, maybe because that's what's set in the pref pane, I'm not really sure.

So the feature would be really cool if it went back to the font we normally use, but as it is now, I don't like it.

Yes I agree with FredAkbar, if we could decide what it was defaulting too then it would actually be pretty useful :D
