Can't get Growl Notifications to show up

I have the newest version of Growl enabled for Adium, and have some events set to display a Growl notification, but no matter how many times those events happen, I can't for the life of me get those notifications to show up! :(

You have them set in both Adium and in Growl right? That's the only thing I could think of other than some weird compatibility issue.

Yes, they are set in both Adium and Growl

Bummer, but possible reboot?

This is a sad thing to ask because we use Macs,

but you have tried a reboot? If so, perhaps an "older" version of growl might work with an older version of Adium. Neither options are good.

Is Growl running?

Show us screen shots of the event prefs (with the disclosure triangles expanded) and your growl prefs for adium.

Neither of these would help.

I assume these two are what you wanted to see:

And yes, Growl is running.

Also, I probably should have said it earlier, but Growl notifications work fine for apps such as Colloquy and my Gmail notifier.

Have you done this?

Well, however you inserted a pic, that was cool. I can't do it because I can't figure out how. But, under Growl w/in Sys Prefs, there is the Network tab. Did you "check" the following:

1. Listen for incoming...
2. Allow remote application ...
3. Forward notifications to ......

But my system keeps turning off #2 when I quit Sys Prefs. Don't know why.'

I'm using X.4.2 on a G4.[/img]

I'm pretty sure those wouldn't need to be enabled, because I'm not running Growl from a different computer. Wouldn't those options be for running it over a network and forwarding notifications to other computers?

Networking support doesn't apply here either. Can you try the beta of Adium .83 and the beta of Growl 0.7.1 and see if they help?

I'm already currently using the Adium beta, but I can't seem to find a beta of Growl on the site.

Okay, I just upgraded to beta 7 of Adium and installed the Growl beta, but there's no change.

Crap. Out of ideas.

So... Am I right in assuming that there is no further word on this? :(

I'm guessing that the issue lies with Adium's use of its own Growl framework. I'm not quite sure why they do it this way, but Adium's Growl notifications work on my work box, but not at home. Why not just use the one inside /Library/Frameworks?

Umm.. if you have Growl.framework in /Library/Frameworks, you need to ditch it.

What about GrowlAppBridge.framework? If I ditch the framework, what are the apps that link against it supposed to use?

They are not supposed to be linking against that anymore. GrowlAppBridge.framework is really old.

Okay well in either case, ditching those frameworks didn't really do anything. Notifications still refuse to show up.
