Smooth Op 1.0b2 custom background colors?

Hey all,

I'm trying to mod the Smooth Operator 1.0b2 release to display incoming and outgoing custom background colors for text. This being my first foray into tweaking a message style, I'm completely lost. I read the definition page in the Wiki, but I'm still a little confused. Is there a simple way to do this, even if it's a crude workaround?

With Smooth Operator? Sure:
1. Find a message style that already does this. Pixol does; it might help.
2. Look at hos they are using the keyword... ==textbackground== or something like that.
3. Apply the use to SO and make the images semi-transparent.

Anyone have any ideas how to get the background to stop spilling out of the boxes?



I simply replaced the div message code in Contents.html in both the Incoming and Outgoing folders with this:
