Is there any way for Adium to connect to Microsoft's Live Communications Server 2005 for corporate IM? Microsoft Messenger 5.0 for Mac does this now and my company uses it a lot, and I would much prefer to have everything under the one roof of Adium. I think corporate messaging requires something called SIP but I know very little about these things.

Adium is the greatest IM product on the planet.

I have Adium running but I'm being forced to also use MS Messenger at work so I can connect to Live Communications Server.

It's not that I hate Microsoft... it's just annoying to have to crawl to Microsoft for anything, especially for something that Adium excels at.

I understand that Microsoft has added some closed extensions to SIP that would have to be uncovered and implemented within Adium for me to be able to use it with LCS.

My question is simply, is anyone working on this?

I did finally find the ticket. Looks like there is some recent interest in getting this completed.
