Adium spoken event notifications

Most of the time, all the wonderful built-in event notification options in Adium is enough to alert even me that someone is trying to catch my attention. However, I've noticed one instance where none of the present alternatives suffice, and that is when I'm using applications that doesn't allow multitasking (mostly games, such as World of Warcraft, Savage etc). Not even growl! alerts can penetrate the thick fog of war that these monsters submerge Adium in. While I can hear that something is happening in the background, there is no way for me to tell who has just messaged me, and whether it's worth having my behind lightning struck by a Horde Shaman just to put WoW into windowed mode.

Recently, I discovered the spoken alerts. These work wonderfully well for when contacts come online or when they derezz, but for received messages, there's two major gripes for me: for some reason, most of the time, adium does not speak the name of the sender, even though 'Speak name' is checked in the speak events settings (possibly a bug). Furthermore, it's really annoying when the speak event notification speak the whole message, not only the name.

What I'm looking for would either be some sort of notification that can display the name of the sender, and possibly the message, even on top of a no-multitasking application, such as many games, or a spoken alert than will just tell me the name of the sender of the message, not the message itself. Is there anything (applescripts, growl! mods) along these lines out there, short of recording and applying individual sounds for each contact?

It's already requested on trac. Ticket 147 IIRC.

Perhaps this is just me not quite understanding the trac ticket system, but ticket 147 seems to refer to a completely different topic...

Sorry to bump me own topic, but I have yet to receive a satisfying answer to this question...

He probably meant http://trac.adiumx.com/ticket/123 , which is what I turned up on a quick search through trac (I may have missed some).

It doesn't address your issues though; I would do a search yourself, and then file a request.
