Blocking non-contact messages?

Is there a way to block all messages from folks not on my contact list? I've been getting some spam lately, which is bad enough, but this is in Japanese.

Set it in the prefs for the official AIM program. It should work that way.

This is a fairly common request (and iirc it's in trac). I wouldn't be surprised to see it with the enhanced blocking support in 0.9.
