I cant recieve any mesages...help pleease

I can't see any replies or new messages from people. I can send no problem. Primary use is for Bonjour/Rendevous office chat and file transfer. I am running OSX Tiger on a powerbook. I just downloaded for the first time and am having no luck. I even cleared out my preferences.

Does Bonjour work correctly for you via iChat?

yes most of the time, but i have heard so many good thigns about adium i wanted to try it

You say 'most of the time' iChat works... is there a pattern to that?

Kiel asked not to suggest you use iChat instead but to see if there was a potential problem with your system setup... iChat has a more mature Bonjour implementation than Adium does so it's a good point of comparison.

I was having the same problem described here and in this other thread:

What I found is that both computers would work if one was in iChat and the other in Adium (or both iChat), but Bounjour would not work until iChat had been launched once on each computer. After launching the two apps in these various configurations, Adium finally recognized the other computer's bonjour ID, and ignored the one on this computer.

Something is not working right, but I'm not sure what!

So Adium does connect to the Bonjour service? That is, in the Adium > Preferences window, a Bonjour account is listed as "Online".
