[ANN] h4x0r messageStyle

Post by phrenzy »

Hilow

It looks like the Xtras page isn't taking submissions right now, so I thought I'd just post a link to my theme. Just something I made for myself that I thought I would share.

What leads you to say the xtras page isn't taking submissions?

After using this for a day, I can say that it is one of my favourites already. You can tell that a lot of time was put into it (or at least a lot of thought). Really nice stuff, phrenzy.

I like this message style, but I'm having a problem...for some reason, the messages I receive from people are EXTREMELY hard to read.

Does anyone know how I would be able to fix this?

There is a glow on the text in this message style, but that is all you can see, which probably means that your received message text is set to black. Go to Preferences > Messages and make sure that "Show received message colors" is not checked off.

You're going to have to be more specific.. plenty of people aren't having problems submitting.

Weird, I don't think I have seen this one - but it is most probably fixed by disabling the incoming text colors of the sender. It may be that they are just sending a explicitly dark text color to you and against the black bg it doesn't look right.

But the other problem I have is if somebody's font is BOLD it will override the Monaco font - which makes it look weird. I was trying to figure out a way to disable incoming 'BOLD' by forcing a plain style in the CSS but it didn't seem to work.

I tried disabling incoming text colors, but that didn't work...it's still black and hard to read. Any other ideas? I've been peeking at the CSS a bit, but haven't seen anything even close to black inside there that might be doing it.

I like that effect, actually.
