It looks somehow like his grandfather knew that he was going to be one of the lead developers of one of the most popular chat clients on the Web.

This guy has a lot of icons that may work, but they change color and that may be a problem.

As for the sound, go to the sound palette and pick no sound from the drop down menu.

Some parents are like that, they are not the majority but their out their.

And Evan that picture is awesome!

Perhaps you should speak to your Dad about talking to friends and respecting your privacy first before going off behind his back... honesty is the key.

I'm a 19 year old who had parents that wouldn't let me near an IM app when I was younger. They're fine with it now (they have been for a few years now), but little did they know I'd be contributing code to a chat program :-)

well.. be glad at least that your dad didn't link up a remote monitor like mine has..

the imac (g3/400) i use is in his study, along with his flashy emac (800).. the main imac unit is beside the emac, and he hooked up a 17" screen to a separate table with usb extension. so now this room looks like it has 3 computers when it really only has 2.. fooled lots of people, i can tell u that..

i got to use the external monitor and extended keyboard and mouse, and 've asked him a few times to switch the monitor with the imac, since i'd rather use a 15" screen than have him continuously being able to sneak a peek at what i'm doing (the rez is only 1024 anyway..) but obviously he declines everytime..

it's been about a year now so i've kinda given up on switching machines, and i'm used to the idea of him watching the screen (i'm not sure how much he does anyway), but i'm still trying to find a way to disable the internal imac screen (via software, not pulling cables out or stuff) while the external screen keeps running.. and be able to activate the internal screen at anytime.. anyone know if that's possible?
