Few Questions... (Buddy Icons and Lagging)

Postby kckid » Thu Sep 15, 2005 11:13 pm

Okay few questions, I saw on another thread on how to help get rid of that problem where the buddy icons are blank, but when I tried it, it didn't work, and not to mention, I lost the thread where it said to do that, any developer care retelling how to fix that problem?

Another question is occasionally, I get huge lags while chatting with people. I don't get beachballed, or Adium lags up, but I don't get replies, no "they're typing" thing, and I don't get noises when I send things and they don't display on the chat for a few minutes then the program gets a huge overload of everything that happened, like the messages, replies, sounds, and so forth. It's odd because like I said, I don't get beachballed, I can do other programs, even Adium, during my backup, I could access Prefences, and Log Viewer, but the messages still didn't work until a few minutes later. Has anyone else experienced this? Will it get fixed up in future versions?
Royals season.

I have never experienced this before. Try using activity moniter and check that. Maybe adium has a leak or something...

Are you using any scripts? Turn them off. Scripts are evil, evil things.

I want proof a script is causing lag :)

I used a script once - gave me a nasty paper-cut.

Technically, it was the thread which gave you the paper-cut, I think... asynchronously.

I didnt think Adium was leaking because Adium is the best ever! Maybe his computer stabbed the duck and that made it leak. idk
