Contact List Troubles

I'm a new user of Adium, and have been enjoying its features but have recently run into a problem.

When I give authorization for someone to add me to their contact list and select "Add to my contact list" the contacts don't show up.

The contacts do however show up as .plist files in the library. Why can't I see them?

I recently added some new groups, dragged my current contacts into their respective grouping, and then deleted the default "Individuals" group. Could this have something to do with it? It was about this time that I started having this problem.

Thanks for any help.

Anything else you need to know?

Hi there,

I'm French so, sorry for my bad English. :(
I have some problems with my contact list :

I use MSN and Adium, and I have make some change on my contact list on MSN last week, I have create new groups and delete some contacts, I have make organisation in my contact list. And this week I use Adium, and Adium haven't make these changes, it's the old contact list, without the change...
So I have make the changes on Adium another time. But when I close and run Adium program the contact list is the old contact list...

I can't change or move or organize or delete in my contact list...
Have you a solution ? May I delete an Adium file and change my contact list on MSN and open Adium another time ?

Sorry again for my English...

I recreated the "Individuals" group and moved everything into it. I then deleted the old groups. The problem seems to have disappeared. When I authorize a new contact and select "Add to my contact list" they now show up. I'll try adding new groups.. does this mean the "Individuals" group always needs to be present?

By show up, you mean that the window comes up to prompt you to add them, then you click Add? Or as soon as you click okay they show up?

As soon as I click "Add to my contact list" they show up. Previously they wouldn't show up at all.

I'm having the same problem with grouping. I tried to rearrange my contact list by sorting my contacts into two groups and deleting the old unneeded groups. When I try to delete the old groups, I get a message saying that some of the contacts and the group could not be deleted even though it should be empty. Then when I login, the old groups appear with the new ones and the contacts show up in the wrong places. I even tried logging into regular AIM and organizing everything there but I still get the same problems when I log back in using Adium. Any help would be great thanks.

To delete the contact list file, remove all the files at the following path:

<your home folder>/Library/Application Support/Adium 2.0/Users/Default/libgaim/
